Mizzou safety enters transfer portal

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou safety Shawn Robinson entered the transfer portal on Wednesday, after spending three season with the Tigers.

The TCU-transfer originally came to Columbia as a quarterback, sitting out in 2019 due to NCAA transfer rules. He spent the beginning of the 2020 season in a competition for a starting position with former Tiger quarterbacks Connor Bazelak and Taylor Powell.

Robinson did start the first two games of 2020 at quarterback, throwing for 185 yards and a touchdown before Bazelak took over as the starter.

The redshirt senior made the move to defense near the end of the 2020 season. He broke out in MU's game against Mississippi State when he brought down his first-career interception. Robinson continued to play safety through the 2021 season, finishing with 31 tackles, an interception, and a sack.

Robinson has one year of eligibility remaining.
