Mizzou drops to 0-3 after opening weekend

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou volleyball team is still on the hunt for its first win of the season after going 0-3 in the Mizzou Invitational on Saturday.

The action started on Friday morning, when the St. Louis University Billikens swept MU, 3-0, to start the tournament and it all ended on Saturday with another sweep, this time coming from the Creighton Blue Jays.

Saturday's match up was a battle of the 2020 NCAA Tournament teams, as the Blue Jays returned all six starters from last season. Josh Taylor's young group of Tigers battled through the match but it was not enough to get the win.

Junior Anna Dixon led the match with 11 kills along with 11 digs for her first double-double of the season.

Up next - Mizzou will head to Louisville, Kentucky to compete in the Cardinal Classic. MU will play against Louisville on Sept. 3 at 6 p.m.
