COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Former Mizzou golf standouts Hayden Buckley and Peter Malnati will both make their U.S. Open debuts on June 17. The Tiger alums are two of 156 qualifiers for the 2021 U.S. Open Championship.

Buckley, a former All-American and 2018 MU graduate, finished 10-under to capture the second place position in the Atlanta qualifier. The Open will be the second PGA Tour event of Buckley's career after he qualified for the Honda Classic in March.

It will also be Malnati's first U.S. Open event and his second major championship of the 2021 season. The 2009 grad finished with one of the 16 spots out of 120 competitors in the Columbus, Ohio qualifier.

Both Mizzou alums will tee off at Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego, California on June 17.
