Mizzou evens the series with Tennessee

KNOXVILLE, Tenn (KMIZ)

No. 15 Mizzou and No. 17 Tennessee will battle in a Sunday rubber match, after Mizzou bounced back in a 7-4 victory on Saturday.

The Tigers brought back their firepower, after getting shutout for just the third time this season, on Friday night. Five players brought in runs, including seniors Brooke Wilmes, Hatti Moore, and Kim Wert who all cranked out home runs.

Tennessee did manage to put some runs on freshman pitcher Laurin Krings, who went about six innings with three strikeouts and just three runs allowed. However, Emma Nichols closed it out for Mizzou.

Up next - Mizzou will look for the series win over the Volunteers on May 9 at 12 P.M. in Knoxville.
