Mizzou falls in series opener against Tennessee

COLUMBIA, Mo (KMIZ)

No. 15 Mizzou softball fell, 4-0, in the first game of its weekend series against No. 17 Tennessee.

The Tigers, usually explosive, offense only got one hit courtesy of a Jenna Laird single in the 7th inning. Tennessee pitcher Ashley Rogers went all seven innings and allowed just one hit with five strikeouts.

MU recorded a season-low of just one hit in the series opener against Tennessee. It is just the third time that Larissa Anderson's group has been shutout this season.

Up next - Mizzou will look to even up the series with Tennessee on Saturday.
