Siegrist’s scoring touch has Villanova near top of Big East

NEW YORK (AP) — Maddy Siegrist leads the nation in scoring and has her No. 14 Villanova Wildcats team in position to possibly be tied for first in the Big East. She also has the single-game and career scoring record in the Big East and is the all-time leading scorer in women’s basketball among Philadelphia schools. Villanova has won 14 of its last 15 games and has its best ranking since 2003. The Wildcats play No. 6 UConn on Saturday in a sold-out nationally televised game. Siegrist will decide after the season if she comes back for a fifth year of eligibility.
