ASPEN, Colo. (AP) — South Korean teen snowboarder Gaon Choi is the buzz of the halfpipe world following her gold medal at X Games Aspen last month. The 14-year-old became the event’s youngest women’s snowboard halfpipe winner. Choi took the title from Chloe Kim, the two-time reigning Olympic champion from California who has become equal parts mentor and fan of Choi. Kim says the future of snowboarding is in good hands. Choi’s next halfpipe contest is scheduled later this month at Copper Mountain, Colorado.
