New Jackrabbit coach Jimmy Rogers says he’s living the dream
BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) — New South Dakota State coach Jimmy Rogers has been with the program nearly every step of the way as it has evolved into a national power in the second tier of Division I football. Rogers was an under-recruited player who became a two-time all-conference linebacker for the Jackrabbits. He was a graduate assistant as well as a position coach and defensive coordinator. Now he’s the successor to longtime head coach John Stiegelmeier. Rogers calls it his dream job. He takes over with the program at its all-time high. The Jackrabbits won their first Football Championship Subdivision title two weeks ago.
