Liverpool’s season hits new low amid off-field uncertainty

Liverpool is regressing at a pace few could ever have imagined a season after the team came close to winning an unprecedented quadruple of major trophies. The Reds’ 3-0 loss at Brighton on Saturday was a new low this season and led manager Jurgen Klopp to ask forgiveness from the team’s fans. Liverpool is currently ninth in the Premier League, out of the League Cup and facing a third-round replay in the FA Cup against Wolverhampton on Tuesday. Suddenly there’s so much wrong at Liverpool on the field and off it. The future direction of the club has been clouded by Liverpool’s American ownership saying it was open to having new shareholders.
