FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — The New England Patriots have plenty of problems to solve in the offseason after their offense underachieved and quarterback Mac Jones regressed in his second year. New England finished 8-9 and missed the playoffs for the second time in three years. Coach Bill Belichick finished under .500 for the third time in 23 seasons in New England. The 70-year-old coach confirmed Monday he’ll be back in 2023. He sidestepped questions about whether offensive play-caller Matt Patricia will return in that role. Belichick also offered a lukewarm assessment of Jones, saying the team needs to work together to get more production out of the quarterback position.
