Maui musings: Golf a learning curve for some players’ ‘wives

KAPALUA, Hawaii (AP) — Most PGA Tour players have been playing golf most of their lives. As for their wives, not so much. The first college tournament Jon Rahm’s wife watched when they were dating, she assumed he was the worst player on the Arizona State team. Max Homa says his wife Lacy went from knowing next to nothing about golf to now asking questions like why he hits in the water after so much practice at home. Some players have wives who played college golf. For so many others, they have slowly picked up on the sport they invariably spend hours watching.
