Alexis Mac Allister and Harry Kane have slipped back into action in English soccer seamlessly after the World Cup. Mac Allister starred for Argentina in its run to the title in Qatar and was a halftime replacement for Brighton after his extended break back home to celebrate. He scored twice in Brighton’s 5-1 win over second-tier Middlesbrough in the FA Cup. Kane made it four goals in four games since the World Cup in leading Tottenham to a 1-0 victory over third-tier Portsmouth in the third round. Premier League relegation candidates Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth were beaten by lower-league opponents. There are 22 third-round games on Saturday.
