Davis scores 36, FAU edges UAB 88-86 for 12th straight win

BOCA RATON, Fla. (AP) — Sophomore Johnell Davis came off the bench to score 36 points — doubling his career high — and Florida Atlantic held off UAB 88-86 to run its win streak to 12 while grabbing the top spot in Conference USA. Davis, who scored 18 points in each half, made 11 of 17 shots with four 3-pointers for the Owls (13-1, 3-0). Bryan Greenlee scored 12 points, while reserve Alijah Martin grabbed 10 rebounds to go with six points. Jordan Walker, who leads the nation with a 25.2 scoring average, finished with 21 points for the Blazers (12-3, 3-1), who saw a five-game win streak end.
