FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — The NASCAR playoff race at Texas is on hold during a red flag after light rain was falling on some parts of the track and there was lightning in the vicinity. There were 220 of 334 laps completed before the cars were parked on pit road. Non-playoff driver Michael McDowell is leading the race. The break allowed drivers a chance to get out of the car on a day with record heat in the upper 90s. Playoff contenders Chase Elliott and Christopher Bell were already out of the race because of crashes after tire issues.
