LAS VEGAS (AP) — Canelo Álvarez’s trilogy-ending victory over Gennady Golovkin was not an unforgettable classic in the ring. Neither fighter scored so much as a knockdown in the entire trilogy. The 40-year-old Golovkin looked tentative and older, while Canelo grew weary in the late rounds and couldn’t finish Golovkin while nursing an injured left wrist. But not every big fight always delivers, and boxing still has interesting potential matchups later in the year. Terence Crawford and Errol Spence are edging toward a sensational welterweight matchup in November, while British heavyweights Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua are in talks about a meeting in December.
