New York Liberty control own destiny in playoff chase

The New York Liberty are currently two games out of a spot in the WNBA playoffs. That doesn’t mean coach Sandy Brondello is scoreboard watching or that she will. Brondello says the Liberty are in control of their playoff chances. New York sits 10th in the standings with nine games remaining. However, eight of those nine games are against Dallas, Phoenix, Los Angeles and Atlanta — teams the Liberty trail by two wins. New York was in a very similar position last year and earned a playoff spot on the final day of the regular season. New York is ranked 10th in the AP WNBA power poll this week.
