COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) — The Tour de France has started with Jeremy Lecroq the first rider to set off on an individual time trial in the center of Copenhagen. Large parts of the Danish capital were shut down for the first stage of the race. A rain shower made sections of the 13-kilometer (eight-mile) route potentially treacherous for the cyclists — especially the stretch across the square of Amalienborg Palace, which is paved with cobble stones. The three-week race includes two more stages in Denmark before ending in Paris on July 24.
