COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Hickman tight end and running back Kason Conyers went "Beyond the Game" with ABC 17 Sports Director Nathalie Jones, as the senior is in the midst of his final year as a Kewpie.

You can find a full transcript of the interview below.

Nathalie Jones: "What's up everyone? We are at Hickman High School going beyond the game with Kason Conyers. Kason, you have coach Conyers and you have dad Conyers. How different are the two Conyers?"

Kason Conyers: "We really try to keep everything separated, but I mean it's, uh, it's really like a really cool experience to have both. He's definitely a little harder on me sometimes, but I appreciate that for sure because it's [always] his best interest for me, so I mean, yeah."

Jones: "How special has just this all been? I remember you as a little guy at practice out at Hallsville, and now you're taller than me, you're playing in your final season, what's this ride been like?"

Conyers: "It's gone by so fast, way too fast. Like, I feel like we, we just got to Hickman, so really just trying to soak every moment in and keep doing that every day. Don't waste a day, just take everything in, like I said."

Jones: "You play this kind of cool hybrid role, running back and tight end. What do you like the most about it? Like I just said you kind of have the smash mouth football, right?"

Conyers: "I like just really being able to be anywhere on the field for my team, wherever they need me, being able to put my team in the best spot to be able to compete and be able to do that pretty much."

Jones: "In that tight end role, what do you feel like is the most underrated part?"

Conyers: "I would say blocking, honestly. Being to like being able to be in that nitty gritty spot, like where you have to run block, you have to block defensive ends, you have to pull for a linebacker like I really like that part, the physicality part for sure."

Jones: "Where do you feel like you've grown the most in your football career and now obviously looking to continue your career after this?"

Conyers: "I really feel like my route running and my explosiveness and speed has kind of been my biggest improvement. I feel like kind of when I got here as a sophomore, whenever I made the switch from running back to tight end, I had a lot to work on - my hands, my route running - so I really feel like that's kind of what I've been able to polish."

Jones: "Yeah, what do you like most about this Kewpie team this year? Where do you hope this group of guys can go?"

Conyers: "I really feel like our leadership and just how dynamic we can be on offense. We have so many pieces that we're putting together on offense right now, and I feel like we have a huge potential to score a lot of points this year for sure."

Jones: "Well, Kason, good luck to you and the Kewpies. Guys, you just went beyond the game with Kason Conyers. Thanks for hanging out."

Conyers: "Thank you."
