Fans pack the hill for first look at the Chiefs

Kansas City sports fans are notorious for being some of the most passionate in the country. With training camp in full swing, that excitement for the season can be felt across the campus of Missouri Western State where supporters are gathering in flocks to get a first look at the team.

Despite an underwhelming campaign last season, Chiefs fans are still optimistic to bounce back and return to the postseason and beyond.

"I think we're always capable of Super Bowl, I mean it's always a capability for us I feel like," said Jace Gehring, a fan making his second trip to St. Joseph for training camp.

Fans have been camping out in line to get the best spots available for the open practices, hoping to grab a space right on the fence with hopes of getting a picture or autograph from some of their favorite players. The camp gives an opportunity to many fans to get an early look at the newest players in red and white, giving them a front row seat to see some of the best in the league.

"[I'm here] mainly just to watch the Chiefs, get a couple signatures, and see our new signings get to work," said Gehring. "I've been a fan my whole life, and they've been a pretty good team since I've been born."

Kansas City will be looking to return to the top level with the help of that passionate fanbase as they quest for a fourth super bowl in the last seven years.
