COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou football team announced the three players that will be joining head coach Eli Drinkwitz in his annual trip to SEC Media Days, where the group will preview the 2026 season.

Offensive lineman Cayden Green, running back Jamal Roberts and linebacker Nicholas Rodriguez will represent the Tigers in Tampa Bay, as each will make their debut at 'talkin' time.' It's an honor that Coach Eli gives to the biggest leaders and impact-players on his squad for the upcoming year.

Green is entering his third season at MU and is fresh off of a year where he moved over to left tackle for the Tigers, just two weeks before the 2025 season began. He ended up thriving in that role, as he opened up gaping holes for the No. 8 rushing attack in the nation.

The Lee's Summit, Mo. native started in 11 games at left tackle for Mizzou in his junior campaign, sitting out two games due to injury, but playing a key role on an offensive line that was named to the mid-season Watch List for the Joe Moore Award, which is given to the nation's best o-line. In 2025, Green allowed just two sacks, three hurries and two quarterback hits all season, ranking No. 19 among all offensive linemen and No. 13 among all tackles with an 82.7 offensive grade from Pro Football Focus.

Roberts was one of the guys that Green was blocking for, in 2025. The running back had a breakout season for Coach Drinkwitz, as he ran in one of the best tandems in the nation, alongside running back Ahmad Hardy.

The St. Louis native has spent his entire career at MU and is now entering his redshirt junior campaign. In 2025, Roberts played in all 13 games with two starts, rushing for 753 yards on 124 carries and six touchdowns, which were all career-highs.

Following the 2025 season, Coach Drinkwitz made it clear how important it was for Roberts to re-sign a deal in Columbia, as he will be a difference-maker in the backfield in 2026.

Rodriguez will represent the defense, down in Tampa Bay, as he enters his junior season. The linebacker is coming off of his best season, yet, playing in all 13 games in 2025. All-in-all, he recorded 61.0 total tackles (27.0 solo), as well as 1.5 sacks, 4.0 tackles for loss and a team-leading seven pass breakups on the year.

The Tigers will take their turn at SEC Media Days on Monday, July 20 and the ABC 17 sports team will be there to bring you live coverage, beginning on Sunday, July 19.
