One of the winningest baseball coaches in Mizzou history was honored in Columbia, on Tuesday.

Longtime Tiger head coach Tim Jamieson was named the 2026 Kiwanis Club of Columbia Don Faurot Sportsperson of the Year Award, after he led MU to 698 wins over the course of his 22 years as skipper of the Tigers. Jamieson trails only Gene McArtor on the all-time coaching victories chart.

“I am honored and appreciate being recognized by the Kiwanis Club, especially being included with the list of highly successful people who have received this award before me,” Jamieson said in a press release from Mizzou.  “I have been blessed with great athletic and human experiences during my career and have had the good fortune to be able to share those experiences with a host of very talented people.”

Jamieson had quite a run as the man in charge of Mizzou baseball, as his teams topped the 30-win threshold on 15 occasions and logged nine NCAA Regional berths. Under the two-time conference coach of the year's leadership, the Tigers made seven-straight NCAA Tournaments from 2003-09 and captured a pair of conference crowns - the 1996 Big 8 regular-season title and the 2012 Big 12 Tournament championship.

He helped mentor some of Mizzou's greatest alums, including Major League All-Stars Max Scherzer, Ian Kinsler, Aaron Crow and Kyle Gibson. In total, 22 of his former players made it to the big leagues, racking up a total of 15 MLB All-Star nods, three CY Young Awards and a pair of Gold Gloves. Jamieson coached eight All-Americans and 10 Freshman All-Americans. He also saw 75 of his players get drafted, including four first round picks.

However, he didn't just send players to the MLB, but also coaches. Former Padres skipper Jayce Tingler and current Giants manager Tony Vitello both played under Jamieson at Mizzou.

With this honor from the Kiwanis Club of Columbia, Jamieson joins a slew of previous Mizzou honorees, which includes Gene McArtor, Norm Stewart, Mike Alden, Brad Smith, J'den Cox, Brian Smith, Karissa Schweizer and few others.
