Mizzou women’s golf wraps up best season in program history

CARLSBAD, Calif. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou women's golf team fell short of making it into match play, on Monday, however the team still ended the 2026 campaign with the best season in program history.

Head coach Carolina Westrup Gaeta and company finished in 12th place overall in the NCAA Championship, posting a team score of +23 through the 72-hole tournament. That surpassed Mizzou's previous best finish in program history, which was set back in 2005 when MU finished in 16th place.

During Monday's fourth round, which marked the final day of stroke play, only the top-eight teams would advance into match play. MU finished 12 strokes out of advancing to another day.

Once again, freshman Ebba Liljeberg led the Tigers on the final day, as she had through the whole tournament in California. She carded a two-over 74 in the fourth round to finish all four rounds two-over (72-73-71-74). That lands Liljeberg as the 30th-best player in the nation.

Senior Addie Dobson was just behind Liljeberg on the leaderboard, on Monday. She went seven-over through the tournament (72-75-74-74) and placed 46th nationally.

Junior Fleur van Beek posted a 76, on Monday, to finish the NCAA Championships in 55th place. That finish comes just one day after the Tiger standout carded the three best scores by a Mizzou golfer at the NCAA Finals in school history.

Now, the attention will turn towards carrying this momentum into the 2027 campaign.
