Ahmad Hardy gives first statement since suffering gunshot wound

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

For the first time since the shooting at a concert in Mississippi, Mizzou running back Ahmad Hardy took to social media to give an update on his condition.

The All-American running back posted a 14 second video on X via the Mizzou Football account.

"I'm back in Columbia, starting the road to my rehab," said Hardy. "I want to thank everybody for all the support and all of you all's prayers, thank everybody for everything. I'm back on the road to success."

Head coach Eli Drinkwitz updated the media during the Zou to You tour, and reiterated that there is no known timetable for Hardy's recovery.

"It'll be several weeks before we actually get a timeline. There's some internal healing that has to occur before we get to any type of strenuous activities, which would then dictate a timeline on his return," Drinkwitz said.

The Laurel, Mississippi police department said there has an arrest made in the shooting of Hardy and one other victim.
