Web Extra: Mizzou baseball’s freshman phenom breaks down blazing hot start to college career

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou infielder Blaize Ward's red hot start to his collegiate career has turned some heads. In fact, the Arkansas native earned SEC Co-Freshman of the Week honors, after the Tigers' big series upset over No. 24 Kentucky.

On Tuesday, ahead of MU's game against Missouri State, the true freshman went one-on-one with ABC 17 Sports Director Nathalie Jones.

"It's awesome. I mean, it's a great feeling, for sure. I think it's just a testament to how hard, like I've put in a lot of work and how much time these coaches have put on me and have really pushed me throughout the year," Ward said when asked about what the SEC honor meant to him.

You can watch the full conversation with Ward in the video player above.
