COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

After a breakout season, Mizzou guard T.O. Barrett is set to enter the transfer portal.

The sophomore confirmed the news on his Instagram, on Monday night, as he became the third Tiger guard to opt to hit the portal this offseason. Barrett joins guards Anthony Robinson and Sebastian Mack in players looking for a new home. With Mizzou also graduating guard Jayden Stone, head coach Dennis Gates will be in search of some ball handlers this offseason

Barrett's decision to enter the portal comes after a breakthrough season in the black and gold. The Oklahoma native broke into the starting lineup at the end of January and never looked back. He averaged 8.6 points, 2.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game in his second season in Columbia. His year was highlighted by a career night in an upset over the Tennessee Volunteers in February, when he recorded a career-best 28 points on 70 percent shooting.

The sophomore played in every game for Mizzou in the 2025-26 season, just one year removed from making just 19 appearances in his rookie season. Fans witnessed a massive jump for Barrett in year two, after averaging 1.9 points per game in his first season.

With the departures of Barrett and Robinson, Coach Gates has now lost both guards with starting experience. Although he is set to bring in five-star guard Jason Crowe Jr. for next season, he will likely look for some more experience in the portal.
