COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Another starter on the 2025-26 Mizzou women's basketball team has opted to hit the transfer portal.

On Monday, the team confirmed with ABC 17 that guard Chloe Sotell will be throwing her name into the portal after one season in Columbia. The sophomore will be looking for her third home in as many years, after transferring to MU from Pepperdine ahead of head coach Kellie Harper's first season.

Sotell quickly worked her way into a starting role for the Tigers, earning her first start in November against Washington State. After that, she went on to start in the next 26 games.

The Connecticut native averaged 8.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game in her sophomore campaign. However, she was particularly effective in off-ball situations, as she led the team with 45 steals on the season.

Sotell is the second starter to enter her name into the transfer portal since it officially opened on Monday, joining fellow guard Shannon Dowell. In total, the team confirmed that Coach Harper will now have five open roster spots to fill, due to the portal. You can find a full list of MU's portal entries below.

Coach Harper did have one player announce her intentions to stay for another season, though: guard Grace Slaughter. That is a big retention for the leader of the Tigers as she heads into her second season at the helm.
