COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Hickman soccer's Analia Tornez went 'Beyond the Game' with ABC 17 Sports Director Nathalie Jones, as the Kewpie star is set for her sophomore campaign, following a freshman season that turned some heads.

You can find the full transcript of the interview below.

Nathalie Jones: "What is up? We are at Hickman High School. We're going Beyond the Game with Analia Tornez. Analia, why do you love the game of soccer so much?"

Analia Tornez: "You know, I really enjoy the energy that the game brings and being in such a competitive environment. I really like it. It's, it's a good like place to surround myself."

Nathalie: "Yeah, competition, no stranger for you. I mean, you were a competitive cheerleader. How did you go from that to going into soccer?

Analia: "Yeah, um, I don't know. I'm not too sure. I, I think I just ended. I ended up getting a little bit bored of cheerleading. It was a bit too predictable for me. I mean, I, I had a lot of fun. I was a flyer and I loved tumbling and stuff."

Nathalie: "Yeah. Do you have a favorite soccer memory? I know you've done a lot of cool things. You've been in a Team USA setting. Like, what's your favorite soccer memory?"

Analia: "Yeah, um, definitely with my new club, uh, team, we went to California this last summer for GA playoffs, and that was very fun. It was very different than Missouri."

Nathalie:" You get to get some sun a little bit?"

Analia: "Yeah, yeah."

Nathalie: "Well, what do you love about this year's team? Uh, you, you were a freshman on varsity last year, now you're a sophomore, a little bit more experienced, and what do you love about this year's group though?"

Analia: "Yeah, I really like the people that are here this year, and, uh, I'm really excited to work with everybody. We have some new people on varsity, and yeah, that's just gonna be exciting to kind of go and meet these new people and just surround myself with them."

Nathalie : "Freshman to sophomore year, does anything feel different? You feel more comfortable?"

Analia: "Yeah, uh, so we did lose a lot of seniors this year, honestly, and uh it'll be different this year. Yeah, like I said, we had, we have some new people, and so it'll definitely be a little bit different.

Nathalie: "Well, Analia, I appreciate you making some time for us. You guys just went beyond the game with Analia Tonez. Thanks for hanging out with you."

Analia: "Thank you"
