Kellie Harper guides Mizzou women back to postseason action

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou women's basketball coach Kellie Harper's first season in Columbia isn't done yet.

On Sunday, the Tigers earned a bid to compete in the Women's Basketball Invitational Tournament (WBIT). MU will be a No. 4 seed and will face Seton Hall in the opening round, on Thursday.

The Tigers' bid into the WBIT marks the program's first postseason appearance, outside of the SEC Tournament, since the 2022-23 campaign. It's also the first of Coach Harper's tenure in Columbia. However, she's far from a stranger to this team of year. Over the course of her career, Harper has made 17 postseason appearances, as Mizzou will be the fifth program she has guided into March.

Mizzou earned a bid following a 16-16 campaign, which came to an end in a first-round loss to Alabama in the SEC Tournament. The Tigers will face a Seton Hall squad that went 19-12 overall, this season.

The tip off time for Thursday night's clash with the Pirates will be announced at a later date.
