COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Through the ups and downs of starting to rebuild the Mizzou women's basketball program in year one under head coach Kellie Harper, guard Grace Slaughter has been the team's rock. On Tuesday, she received some recognition for that.

The league office announced that the junior was named Second Team All-SEC, after another career season.

The Grain Valley, Missouri native is becoming one of the most decorated athletes in program history, previously being named to the 2025-26 Cheryl Miller Small Forward of the Year preseason and midseason watch list. She was also tabbed as the 2024-25 SEC Scholar Athlete of the Year and named to the 2023-24 All-SEC Freshman Team.

In her third season in the black and gold, Slaughter ranked No. 33 in the county and No. 5 in the conference in averaging 18.9 points per game. She also averages 6.5 boards per game, an amount which doubled from one year ago.

In the 2025-26 campaign, Slaughter has climbed Mizzou's all-time scoring leaderboard, as she's now No. 13 on the prestigious list. Additionally, her 585 points in her junior season was the eighth-most points in a single-year in program history.

Slaughter is the first Mizzou player to earn an All-SEC selection since Hayley Frank was honored on the all conference second team at the conclusion of the 2022-23 campaign.

Up next - Slaughter and her Tiger team will take on the SEC Tournament in Greenville, S.C. No. 14-seeded MU will face No. 11-seeded Alabama on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. CT.
