Nathalie Jones: "What's up? We are at Tipton High School going beyond the game with Madison Carvajal. Madison, why do you love basketball? What is it about this sport that just speaks to you?

Madison Carvajal: "I love playing with my teammates. I think that's my favorite part about it is making memories and laughing and just having fun at practice."

Nathalie: "This team is so fun to watch, you guys have had so much success over the years. What's special about playing at Tipton High School?"

Madison: "Just the atmosphere. The community is great and the practice atmosphere ,as well as playing home games. I just love all that kind of stuff."

Nathalie: "Well, you hit 2,000 career points, it's hard to do in high school. What was more memorable, 1,000 or 2,000?"

Madison: "I think 2000. That was an exciting game and it was fun. I mean, playing against Harrisburg, it was a good matchup and it was just a great game all around. It was fun."

Nathalie: "Tell me about the moment. I mean, you obviously knew you were approaching it and what was the moment like when you hit it? I'm sure your team, they probably freaked out a little bit, right?"

Madison: "It was super exciting. It was a little embarrassing because you never have to do it when you're just standing there, everyone's staring at you and clapping for you, but it was a lot of fun. It feels like a great accomplishment for me. It's a personal goal."

Nathalie: "What would you like your legacy, you know, at Tipton High School to be, you guys have had so much success, but what would you like your legacy to be here?"

Madison: "Hopefully it's a positive one. I mean, I like building bonds with the younger girls and the underclassmen and hopefully leading them to be better as we all want to be."

Nathalie: "You're in such an exciting time in women's sports right now. I mean, you know, even at the high school level, how awesome is it to be playing with like, hey, women's sports is in this really exciting time."

Madison: "It's great. I mean, it's so fun to show everybody that we're talented and we can get things done and have such a great crowd at a girls' game. It's just great to know that we're being recognized."

Nathalie: "Is there anyone you kind of looked up to through your basketball career? It could be pro. It could be college."

Madison: "I mean, definitely, I mean she's not a pro, but my older sister, both of them, they were great basketball players and good leaders, and they definitely helped me set goals and achieve those."

Nathalie: "Finally, hopes for the rest of the season. Where are you hoping the Tipton Cardinals go this year?"

Madison: "You know, the state championship, it's what we've been working for all year, and I think we have a good shot. We just gotta get things done. I think we will."

Nathalie: "Awesome. You guys just went beyond the game with Madison Carvajal. Madison, thanks for hanging out with us."

Madison: "Thank you."
