COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Although Mizzou women's basketball has found some momentum with a two-game winning streak, first-year head coach Kellie Harper said her team has remained as level-headed as ever.

"Our players have been so consistent. They don't really vary their emotional state too much. They're not too high or too low, win or lose., which is honestly what I asked for at the beginning of the season," she said. "So, they're not riding a high. They come back every day the same team. I think it actually, you know, helps us do our job because they're pretty consistent in showing up."

With Sunday's win over the Mississippi State Bulldogs, Coach Harper and her team improved to 15-9 on the season and 3-6 in Southeastern Conference play. That surpasses the overall win total of the 2024-25 campaign and matches the wins from SEC action that season.

Now, the Tigers will hope to carry the momentum from a pair of wins against Mississippi State and Texas A&M into a rematch with rival Arkansas, on Thursday. MU took the first edition of the rivalry series by 25 points in mid-January, however, Harper said those results won't have any impact on the upcoming game in Fayetteville.

"I don't think I don't think we saw their best [last time]. I think they're playing much better now. I think shooting the ball really well in the last three games, so we think they have really grown as a team," Harper said. "[In playing a team a second time,] one team is going to want to make a lot of adjustments and the other team's not going to want to make a lot of adjustments. I think you have to account for that. So, you know, if it worked, why change. They're definitely going to. So, I think sometimes in your preparation, I think the team that had the loss the first time around has a little bit better psyche going into the second game because I think they've got a little bit more to work with in terms of their preparation."

Mizzou will tip off against Arkansas on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Bud Walton Arena.
