Mizzou’s lights out shooting secures its second SEC win in a row

In a game that had 12 ties and 20 lead changes, the Tiger's were able to win a dogfight against Mississippi State 88-80. The win is the second conference victory in a row, as Mizzou improves to 15-9.
The back and forth game started from the very first whistle. Head coach Kellie Harper's squad jumped out to a 5-0 lead, which the Bulldog's responded with seven straight to take a lead. Neither side led by more than five in the entire first half.
Mississippi state went into the half with a one point lead, but was able to build upon it out of the break, getting ahead 57-52. But the Tigers managed to keep the game close as they went to the final 1quarter. The key for Mizzou came in the final three minutes, where they stormed to the largest lead by either team all game thanks to a 14-2 run.
As a team, Mizzou shot 58 percent from the field and 46 percent from three for one of its most impressive offensive performances of the year. Four Tigers reached double digits in scoring, lead by Shannon Dowell who ended the day with 21. Grace Slaughter followed her up with 18, with Abbey Schreacke and Sanaih Tyler rounding out the leading scorers.
