TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (KMIZ)

The home team continued its dominance in the series between Mizzou men's basketball and Alabama, on Tuesday night. With Mizzou's 90-64 loss to the No. 23 Crimson Tide, the team playing at home has now won eight of the last nine meetings between the two programs.

Head coach Dennis Gates' team managed to stay within striking distance of the Tide through much of the first half, trailing by just three points with about seven minutes left until halftime. However, Alabama proceeded to go on a 16-6 run to end the half and go into the locker room up on Mizzou by 13 points.

After halftime, the Tigers had no answers for the Crimson Tide. MU only got within 10 points of Alabama once at the start of the half, but from there Oats' squad took over.

Alabama out-scored Mizzou 48-35 in the last 20 minutes of action, as MU got gashed from beyond the arc in Tuscaloosa. The Tide finished just one triple short of matching their season-high, as the team shot a smoking hot 88.5 percent from 3-point range and 42.6 percent from the field.

On the flip side, Gates' squad had another abysmal shooting performance. The Tigers ended up shooting at a 39.1 percent clip from the field and 19.0 percent from 3-point range. However, by far, the worst stat of the night came from the free throw line. Mizzou went 8-23 from the charity stripe, recording a season low clip of 34.8 percent.

Guard T.O. Barrett, who logged his second-straight start for the Tigers, led the team in the scoring department with 13 points. Forward Mark Mitchell (11) and center Shawn Phillips Jr. (10) were the only other Tigers to get into double-figures.

Up next - Mizzou will return home to host Mississippi State on Saturday, Jan. 31. Tip off is slated for 2:30 p.m.
