COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

For the second time in the month of January, Mizzou football coach Eli Drinkwitz made some late additions to his 2026 recruiting class.

On Sunday night, a pair of high school standouts from the Kansas City area pledged to the Tigers to bring the number of prospects joining the 2026 roster to 22.

First, the Tigers landed a commitment from Lee's Summit wide receiver Karsten Fiene, who flipped his commitment from Northwest Missouri State. The three-star prospect's senior season was one to remember, as he amassed 1,586 all-purpose yards and 22 touchdowns on his team's way to a Missouri Class 6 state championship.

He will join incoming freshmen receivers Jabari Brady and Devyon Hill-Lomax on the 2026 roster.

Later in the night, Coach Drinkwitz landed a commitment from three-star Liberty North cornerback Trashundon Neal. He picked the Tigers over offers from Iowa State, Kansas and Kansas State.

The Liberty, Missouri native played both cornerback and wide receiver in high school, but was recruited by Mizzou corners coach Al Pogue and will join that position group once he arrives on campus. As a senior for the Eagles, he racked up 37.0 total tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss, one interception and four passes defended.

As a wideout for his team, he accumulated 25 receptions for 316 yards, as well as 250 yards in the return game.
