Mizzou women’s basketball suffers third conference loss at No. 7 Vanderbilt

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Tigers couldn't break the Commodores unbeaten streak, falling 99-68.

Head coach Kellie Harper's squad took to Nashville in search of its first conference win. Junior guard Shannon Dowell made her return to the line up tonight after being sidelined for the last four outings due to a lower body injury.

Much like their previous games, the Tigers were able to hang around in the opening portions of the game. Mizzou trailed by just four after the first quarter, and took a 32-29 lead in the second quarter with five minutes remaining in the half. But a 14-2 run to end the half gave the Commodores a commanding lead, that they never gave back.

Abbie Schreake was on fire from long range drilling five threes on her way to a team high 19 points. Grace Slaughter was the only other Tiger in double figures with 12, and Shannon Dowell tacked on eight points in her return.

Up Next - Mizzou returns to Columbia to face Alabama on Monday, Jan. 12. Tip off against the Crimson Tide is scheduled for 6 p.m.
