Mizzou football makes first two additions from transfer portal

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Mizzou football coach Eli Drinkwitz's first two additions from the transfer portal addressed two of his biggest needs for the 2026 season: cornerback and wide receiver.
Coach Eli's very first portal addition of the offseason came from one of the top programs in college football, as former Oregon cornerback Jahlil Florence reportedly committed to Mizzou, according to PowerMizzou.com and various other national outlets.
The California native spent four seasons in Eugene, getting snaps in both 2022 and 2023, before being sidelined with an injury in 2024. Since that injury, he's only gotten into one game for Oregon. However, in his two seasons of work, he managed to rack up 35 career tackles and a pair of interceptions.
Florence left high school as a consensus four-star prospect and a Top-100 player according to 247Sports, checking in as the No. 30 cornerback, overall. He was also rated among the nation's Top-200 players by ESPN.
He will have two years of eligibility remaining.
Later in the day, Coach Drinkwitz made a key offensive addition to his 2026 roster.
Former Cincinnati wide receiver Caleb Goodie announced his commitment to the Tigers on social media, after spending one season as a Bearcat. In that one year, compiled 484 yards and two touchdowns on 29 receptions. He was also once ranked among the top five fastest wide receivers in the nation in average speed, according to Telemetry Sports.
Before his time in Cincinnati, Goodie spent two seasons at Colorado State. During the 2024 campaign, he caught 21 passes for 436 yards and four touchdowns.
His commitment comes as Coach Eli is looking to replace more than 1,400 yards of production through the air, with the graduation of receiver Kevin Coleman Jr. and the portal departures of Joshua Manning, Marquis Johnson, Daniel Blood and James Madison II.
