Mizzou freshman kicker throws name into transfer portal
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Mizzou's true freshman kicker has decided to throw his name into the transfer portal, after one season with unforeseen circumstances in Columbia.
Robert Meyer posted the announcement on his Instagram, following a debut season where he was thrust into the starting job when starter Blake Craig went down with an ACL tear in the first game of the season.
Through 13 games, Meyer connected on 10-of-14 field goals, with the longest coming from 40 yards, and 35-of-38 point-after attempts for a total of 66 points in the 2025 campaign. One of his performances even earned him SEC Freshman of the Week honors, after he drilled that 40-yarder in the Southeastern Conference opener against South Carolina in September.
The California native did have some ups and downs in the black and gold, though. In Mizzou's narrow win at Auburn, Meyer went 1-of-2 in his field goals attempts in the double-overtime victory, missing the would-be game-winner from 38 yards out in the first overtime. Then, at Oklahoma, he went 1-of-2 on attempts again, missing on a 35-yard blocked kick.
Meyer is the 10th Tiger to opt to throw his name into the transfer portal and the first since MU's loss to No. 19 Virginia in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl on Saturday. You can find a full list of all the transfer portal entries below.
