Mizzou women’s basketball cruises to win over North Alabama
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Mizzou women's basketball team is on a two-game winning streak, following a 84-57 win over North Alabama.
Tiger guard Grace Slaughter got her team off to a hot start, scoring all 13 points of Mizzou's points in the first five minutes of the game against the Lions. The junior ended up with a game-best 25 points, along with six rebounds.
She was joined in the double-digit scoring club by Jayla Smith (17), Abbey Schreacke (12) and Chloe Sotell (11). Sotell added on 13 rebounds to finish with a double-double.
Head coach Kellie Harper and her team held a 10-point lead after one quarter, but the spent the second quarter being absolutely plagued by turnovers. MU committed the first six of its 17 total turnovers in that alone, but still carried an 18-point lead into halftime.
After the break, the 3-pointer's started flying. The Tigers landed 25 triples, with Schreacke ending with the team-best four.
Up next - Mizzou will host Kansas City on on Sunday, Dec. 28 at 2 p.m.
