Mizzou starting quarterback will enter transfer portal

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Another piece of Mizzou football's offense is set to enter his name into the transfer portal.
On Thursday, a team spokesperson confirmed with ABC 17 that quarterback Beau Pribula is set to throw his name into the portal, after one season in Columbia. He joins several of his teammates, who made the decision to test the transfer waters, as well, following the end of the regular-season.
After transferring to Columbia from Penn State ahead of the 2025 campaign, Pribula threw for 1,941 yards, 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions on a 67 percent completion rate. The dual-threat QB also ran for 297 yards and six touchdowns on 95 carries in a season where injury plagued the Pennsylvania native. The quarterback ended up missing two games (against Texas A&M and Mississippi State), after he suffered a non-fracture ankle dislocation in the second half of Mizzou's match up against Vanderbilt on Oct. 25.
Of course, there's no official word from the team on how they will handle the quarterback situation in 2026, specifically if they will be seeking out an experienced portal quarterback or not. Drinkwitz made it clear during the season, though, that Zollers is the future for the Tigers at the quarterback position. He's seen action in seven total games, including two starts due to Pribula's injury, as Zollers finished his debut season completing 53 percent of his passes for 402 yards, four touchdowns and one interception.
In total, Pribula is the seventh player that has decided to enter his name into the transfer portal, when it opens up on Jan. 2. His news comes just one day after one of his targets, wide receiver Marquis Johnson, announced that he will be going portaling, as well. Coach Drinkwitz has seen a few key offensive weapons decide to test the waters, since finale at Arkansas at the end of November.
