Mizzou trounces Bethune-Cookman in final home game of 2025
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Mizzou men's basketball team cruised to its final win inside of the walls of Mizzou Arena in 2025, overwhelming Bethune-Cookman in a 82-60 victory.
The team's second-straight win lifted head coach Dennis Gates and his team to 10-2 on the season.
For the second-straight game, the Tigers shot a high clip from the field, draining 57.6 percent of their shots, as MU pounded the paint, out-scoring the Wildcats 50-18 inside. In total, three players got into double-figures, on Sunday afternoon. Graduate Jacob Crews led the way for the second-consecutive game with a team-best 20 points, while senior Mark Mitchell (19) and junior Anthony Robinson (15) rounded out the double-digit scoring club.
Mizzou wasn't quite as accurate from 3-point range, though, making just 36.8 percent of those shots in the win. Crews drained the most shots from beyond the arc with three.
The Tigers not only destroyed Bethune-Cookman on the scoreboard, but also on the actual boards. Mizzou out-rebounded the Wildcats 34-20, scoring 21 points on second-chance buckets.
The game also marked one of Coach Gates' team's best defensive outings, yet, as they limited their opponent to just 42.2 percent shooting from the field and 50.0 percent shooting 3-point range.
Up next - Mizzou will look to carry the momentum from its two-game winning streak in the annual Braggin' Rights match up on Dec. 22. The Tigers will tip off against the Illinois Fighting Illini at 7 p.m. at the Enterprise Center.
