Two Mizzou standouts earn SEC weekly honors for performance at Arkansas

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A pair of Mizzou football standouts found themselves on the Southeastern Conference's weekly list of player of the week honorees, on Monday, following a 31-17 win at Arkansas to wrap up the regular-season.
Wide receiver Kevin Coleman Jr. and defensive tackle Chris McClellan were both recognized, after putting up game-changing performances in the Battle Line victory, on Saturday.
Coleman Jr. was named the SEC's Special Teams Player of the Week, thanks to a game-sealing 67-yard punt return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. The senior told local media members, after the game, that that was his first punt return for a score of his career.
The St. Louis native currently ranks No. 11 in the nation in returns, averaging 12.6 yards per return.
Meanwhile, McClellan was named the conferences Defensive Lineman of the Week.
That honor comes after the senior led the charge for a defense that limited the Razorbacks to an abysmal 61 yards rushing, on Saturday. McClellan finished the night with a career-best two sacks for -9.0 yards, along with three total tackles and two solo stops. Pro Football Focus (PFF) also credited the Tiger standout with an additional quarterback hurry.
In total, the Mizzou defense allowed 246 yards of total offense, including just 73 yards of total offense in a shut out effort in the second half.
Up next - the Tigers will wait to find out their bowl destination. That will be announced on Sunday, Dec. 7.
