COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Ahead of Monday's season opener, Mizzou women's basketball announced that Rock Bridge alum Averi Kroenke will miss the entire 2025-26 season due to a lower-body injury.

The redshirt junior has averaged 2.0 points and 1.8 assists over the course of her career, as the team said she will begin recovery immediately to return to action ahead of next season.

"We feel for Averi who has been the heartbeat of this team and are going to support her in every aspect of the recovery process," head coach Kellie Harper said in a press release. "Although we look forward to having her back on the court, I am confident she will find ways to impact our program this year."

Kroenke has grappled with injury a couple of times over the course of her Mizzou career, including one that kept her out the entire 2023-24 season.
