RECAP: No. 15 Mizzou passes first road test in double-overtime thriller

AUBURN, Ala. (KMIZ)

You can count on one thing when Mizzou and Auburn meet on the football field: an absolute rollercoaster ride. The 2025 edition of the battle of the Tigers was no exception, as head coach Eli Drinkwitz and company found a way to win in a double-overtime thriller.

"What a gutsy win," Drinkwitz said.

It was a victory that allowed MU to break back into the AP Top-25, jumping up one spot to No. 15 in the nation.

Although Mizzou's road to a 6-1 record hasn't been the smoothest, the team's will to win is what they expect to take this team far in 2025.

"I mean, it was ugly. It was really, really ugly," Coach Drinkwitz said. "I'm so proud of the team and proud of our fans. You know, this place has come a long way. You know, to come down here and win and expect to win the way we did."
