COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou quarterback Beau Pribula is garnering national recognition for his play through the first two weeks of college football season.

On Tuesday, the leader of the Tiger offense was tabbed as the Maxwell Player of the Week, after completing about 77 percent of his passes for 334 yards and three touchdowns in MU's win over Kansas. He also added on 19 yards on the ground on nine carries.

It marks the first weekly honor that he's gotten in his time as a Tiger.

Over the course of two games, Pribula is completing about 80 percent of his passes. That completion percentage is the best in the Southeastern Conference and fourth-best in the nation. Pribula has also thrown for the second-most yards in the SEC (617), only trailing Oklahoma's John Mateer (662).

Up next - Pribula and his team will stay home to host Louisiana in week three. Kickoff between the Tigers and the Ragin' Cajuns is slated for 3 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.
