Mizzou soccer cruises past Youngstown State for first win of 2025

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou soccer team recorded its first win of the 2025 season with a 5-0 rout over Youngstown State, on Wednesday night.

Four Tigers netted a goal in the first victory of the season, as head coach Stefanie Golan's team improved to 1-0-1 on the season. Hailey Chambliss led the team with two scores on the night, while Brianna Buels, Landis Canada and Mia Devrouax each tallied a goal apiece.

MU was aggressive out of the gates, on Wednesday. Golan's team out-shot the Penguins 20-7, including eight shots on goal.

Junior Kate Phillips kept a clean sheet for the Tigers, notching two saves in her second start of the season.

Up next - Mizzou will take its first road trip of the 2025 season, as the Tigers travel to take on St. Louis on Sunday, Aug. 24. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
