Mizzou football hits the field for practice No. 1 of fall camp

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou football team has the first practice of fall camp in the books, as the group prepares for what they hope will be a historic 2025 campaign.

Ahead of the start of his sixth season at the helm in Columbia, Tiger head coach Eli Drinkwitz and his team took the Stephens Indoor Practice Facility and got to work in a competitive edition of fall camp.

There are healthy position battles up and down the roster, but all eyes have turned to the competition for starting quarterback. During the offseason, Coach Drinkwitz narrowed it down to a two-man race between Penn State transfer Beau Pribula and returner Sam Horn. However, when he kicked off fall camp with the media on Sunday, he said that true freshman Matt Zollers isn't totally out of the race, yet. He'll just need to come into fall camp strong, which isn't unheard of.

You can watch extended highlights from the first practice of the fall in the video player below.

Drinkwitz and company will continue fall camp on Tuesday, when practice No. 2 kicks off at 11 a.m.
