Mizzou tennis coach resigns; Tiger Athletics names interim head coach

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Mizzou tennis team saw some shakeups on its coaching staff, on Monday.
Head coach Bianca Turati resigned from her position in Columbia, in order to take an associate head coaching role at her alma mater, Texas. In the three seasons she spent as the leader of the Tigers, MU made remarkable strides as a program, as the team went from two wins during her interim year to five wins in her first full season and then 13 in her second full year.
After that news came out, Mizzou Athletics announced that associate head coach Silvia Chinellato will be taking the reins as the interim head coach of the Tigers.
"We appreciate Bianca's dedication to our program over the past three years, and we wish her all the best moving forward," Mizzou Athletic Director Laird Veatch said in a press release. "Silvia has been a great addition to our program since her arrival, and she brings previous head coaching experience and high-level playing experience to this role as interim head coach as we head into the 2025-26 season."
Chinellato joined Mizzou's coaching staff in Sept. of 2024, after serving as the head coach for both the men's and women's tennis programs at Mount St. Mary for a season. In her first year in Columbia, she helped the Tigers to two ranked SEC Wins, defeating No. 55 Mississippi State and No. 22 Florida in March.
The native of Italy also has found success playing in the Southeastern Conference. She spent five years playing for South Carolina, collecting a 70-40 record in doubles action and a 72-50 mark in her singles career.
