Mizzou offensive lineman receives another pair of All-America nods

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Mizzou offensive lineman Cayden Green is raking in preseason recognition, ahead of his second season in Columbia. On Tuesday, the junior received two more preseason All-America nods, from both Athlon Sports and the Walter Camp Football Foundation.
That recognition comes in addition to Green's First-Team Preseason All-American recognition by Phil Steele last week. This time around, he was placed on second-team and third-team by Walter Camp and Athlon Sports, respectively.
The Lee's Summit native made a splash in his first season in the black and gold, after transferring in from Oklahoma ahead of the 2024 campaign. Through his career with the Tigers and the Sooners, he's tallied 1,504 snaps in 24 games, 18 of which were starts. In the 2024 season, Green was an anchor on an offensive line that led the SEC and ranked seventh nationally in time of possession, while ranking fourth and seventh in the conference in tackles for loss allowed and sacks allowed per game, respectively. The Mizzou offense accumulated 2,138 rushing and 2,962 passing yards, as well as 26 rushing touchdowns with Green's presence on the offensive line.
Green's unit also found success in the red zone. The Tigers finished 10th nationally and second in the Southeastern Conference in red zone offense, as the group converted on 46-of-50 opportunities in 2024.
The offensive line will look to build on that success in a highly-anticipated 2025 campaign. Green and Mizzou will kick off the season on Thursday, Aug. 28 at 6:30 p.m. against Central Arkansas.
