Reds snap Cardinals’ five-game winning streak in series finale

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMIZ)
The St. Louis Cardinals fell just short of a perfect week with a 4-1 loss to the Cincinnati Reds in Sunday's series finale at Busch Stadium. Despite the loss, the Red Birds still took the series and have won five out of their last six games.
After plating 37 runs over the course of the last fives game, skipper Oli Marmol's team struggled at the dish on Sunday, falling one game short of the club's second-straight sweep. In the loss, St. Louis mustered just three hits and went 1-for-5 with runners in scoring position.
Starter Miles Mikolas was charged with the loss on the hill, as he gave up three runs, one of which was unearned, on four hits through five innings of work. He now holds a 4-5 mark in the 2025 season.
St. Louis' lone run of the day came off the bat of Yohel Pozo, who played hero just one night before when he walked off game two in the 11th inning to secure the series victory. On Sunday, he finished 1-for-3, with that one hit resulting in an RBI.
Up next - the Cardinals will now head into an important series against the National League Central-leading Chicago Cubs. First pitch in a four-game set against STL's rivals will be on Monday, June 23 at 6:45 p.m.
