Mizzou defensive ends enters the transfer portal without eligibility
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A team spokesperson confirmed with ABC 17 that Mizzou defensive end Joe Moore became the fifth Tiger to throw his name into the transfer. However, the team added that the St. Louis native doesn't have any eligibility left.
Moore will be looking for his third collegiate home, where he will play in his sixth season of college football, if he is granted more eligibility by the NCAA.
He spent two seasons at Mizzou and made an instant impact when he stepped on campus, ahead of the 2023 campaign. In his first season in the black and gold, he saw action in 12 games and registered 13 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, one sack and a fumble recovery.
However, in 2024, Moore suffered a tough blow, going down with a season-ending knee injury just five games into the season. He compiled two tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss, one pass break up, five quarterback pressures and one fumble recovery in his shortened season.
Before Mizzou, Moore spent three years with the Arizona State Sun Devils. In 23 career games and 12 starts, he tallied 30 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, one fumble recovery and seven quarterback pressures. He posted eight games with three or more tackles and recorded one or more tackles for loss on five different occassions.
Moore joins cornerback Ja'Marion Wayne, linebacker Mikai Gbayor, defensive end Jahkai Lang and quarterback Drew Pyne in players to enter the transfer portal during the spring window.
